Hey Everybody,
One of your lovely co-posters here from the Libraries Aren’t Boring! blog. I just wanted to share some insight into a few things I think about at while at the library, and while I’m not there.
I work at our school’s library roughly 6 days a week on average. I am noticed as someone who tends to never leave the library, regardless if I’m working or not! I seemed to have developed a symbiotic relationship with this place, and quite honestly, I’m not sure how healthy that is, haha. Like my co-poster, I dream about the library and our job, too. I dreamed recently that I came into work and everything was changed into a catering business. On the other hand, I sometimes dream about the most mundane things, like everyday tasks. I guess where I’m going with this is the fact that me and a lot of other co-student workers put a lot of time, effort, and heart into this job. For some of us, we can shut off the library like *that.* Others, well, we dream about filling out PALCI slips.
The silver lining to this post is that I’m not bothered by the fact that I do think about my job for most of my day. I’m passionate, proud, and thankful for where I work, and I could not see a better way of spending my non-classroom hours during college. I hope to find a job after college that will reward me with the same experience, though, perhaps I won’t hang around the place as much.
Until later, keep checking out books and being kind to the Circulation Desk staff :)
